Today I pulled this one little pom from a high kill shelter. I only spent 5 minutes with him as a foster was taking him home for the night and will take him to boarding tomorrow because everything was closed today. That only means that rescues need to get creative if they want to save a dog’s life. And this one certainly needed saving as he was on his last day, as so many are. So with a short break, he will be on the road again, but every mile traveled is one closer to his forever home, somewhere.
Not Just Scared, But Terrified
Today I pulled this little pittie from a city shelter and yes, she was very scared. Very quiet on the trip up to a northern rescue, but when we off loaded, she became very frightened and very scared. I know the rescuer will spend all the time needed to get through to her and a month from now you won’t even recognize her. Maybe her eye injury played a part on how she was feeling, don’t know. She will be at the vets on Tuesday to have it looked after. I have asked the rescue for updates on how she is doing. Hopefully time will let her forget her past as she moves on to a better future.
