Meet Clifford and Heidi, both chow mixes, both from the same shelter, but have never met before being saved and transported today by the same rescue. And yes, they have a weak spot for chows and chow mixes. Clifford was a little grumpy in loading, unloading and being placed in his new kennel while he awaits transport up north. Heidi was easy going and there were no issues with her. Goes to show it’s about the personality, not the breed, as many try to label others dogs.
A Long Journeys End
Today I went out to the high desert to re-transport these two that I dropped off two weeks ago, as there was no place that would take them. We loaded them up early in the morning and they were in their new home by about noon. The rescue put up new fencing, one of the guys built them a new dog house (interior is connected to both halves). I think he did a wonderful job, it only took him a few days. They now have plenty of room to run and be wolves. Soon their socialization will begin and I believe in a month they will be running with the pack. It just takes time to get them settled, socialized and just used to being around people, people who care.
