Today I picked up Maggie at boarding; off to the vets we went for her to be current on shots before going to the kennel to await her ride north. Once we are there it will only be a few hours until loading time and then off she goes. I talked to the rescue and she has a foster waiting to take her as soon as she gets there. That’s good, she will be tired and ready for a nap by that time. Many people have helped her along her journey and more will do so as she gets closer to her forever home, one step at a time. Good luck Maggie and don’t forget to write.
Highway To Heaven
Today I went way out east to pick up these six dogs from a shelter that doesn’t get much rescue support, because nobody knows there out there. It was a very high kill shelter because not many got out alive. The current staff is trying very hard to turn things around and folks like me are trying to help. We did six today; next week we will try again maybe, if other rescues step up and want more. The little Papillion, in the photo with her new foster, was deemed too aggressive to handle. As you can see, that is not the case anymore. This is what we do, save one dog at a time.
