Animal Transport

While we stopped documenting the stories of our transports in 2016, we continue to work directly with rescue organizations in getting animals out of high-kill shelters.

Bath Time For Paul

September 1, 2015 by Animal Resources

Poor Paul; after we pulled him from the shelter and got him to a wonderful boarding facility, he had so many flees and ticks, it was right into the bath tub. No one knew how he was going to react to this and it could have gone south real quick, but it didn’t. Paul took his bath, got flea and tick treated and was the hero of the day. Yes, a lot of folks were holding there breath just waiting to see how he was going to react. That’s because it took two of us with a catch pole to get him in a kennel; no biting or growling just stubborn and did not want to go in the kennel. He weighs a good hundred lbs or so, so being careful is what we were. But all is well and Paul is clean, maybe first time in a long time.

Mom And Pups

August 14, 2015 by Animal Resources

Today I picked up this very thin mom plus her 5 very fat pups from a shelter way out in the desert. Poor mom was so thin, I don’t see how she was nursing, but she was. The pups were just plump and happy, so she must be. The pups appear about ready to be weaned so poor mom can take a much need break. They all are going to a great rescue and will be well cared for. The mom was so sweet, but frightened. She settled right down when pups were placed back with her. Now it’s her time to rest.
