Animal Transport

While we stopped documenting the stories of our transports in 2016, we continue to work directly with rescue organizations in getting animals out of high-kill shelters.

The White Shepherd

April 25, 2014 by Animal Resources

Today I picked up this senior shepherd from another transporter and brought him to a senior sanctuary. As he is about 12 yrs old and not many folks will adopt a very senior dog, it’s the best that the rescue can do for him. I could tell from seeing him that he has not had an easy life, but I know they will try to make his last days maybe the best he has had in a while. He will first go to the vets for a complete work up so that his skin issues can be addressed and medicated. They will also check to see if he has any other medical needs that can be treated. Care and love he will get, time is what it will be, but I know they will make every new day better than the one before.

I also picked up this very chipper senior chihuahua that was such a neat little guy, senior yes, but full of energy and just wanted to be with someone. He is off to a good start and who knows maybe he will get adopted. He was so lovable, who could say no to him.

If Pirates Could Talk

April 22, 2014 by Animal Resources

I know he isn’t a pirate, but if he could talk, maybe he could tell us what happened to his eye. Yes, it’s gone, but he is a very sweet boy. He had a very large bone when I picked him up and that was what he was focused on, nothing else. Saw the bone and jumped right into the kennel. Better than some little dogs. I know his future parents will have to adjust to his blind side, but with everything else this guy has going for him, that should be the least of their concerns. I know his rescue is looking forward to him and hopefully his forever home is next.
