Animal Transport

While we stopped documenting the stories of our transports in 2016, we continue to work directly with rescue organizations in getting animals out of high-kill shelters.

Striker And Taz

February 19, 2015 by Animal Resources

Today I pickup these two, who couldn’t be more different. Off we went to meet their plane and they were the only two dogs on board the flight. I hadn’t seen that happen before. Usually it’s quite crowded, but not on this flight. We had to disassemble the kennels and rebuild them in the plane as they were too large to fit through the plane’s door. You do what you have to do to make it work. After they were all settled in, they were off to their new homes and I am sure a much better life than what they had before. It’s just one dog at a time, well maybe two, that we can save.

Mom Is Worried

February 17, 2015 by Animal Resources

Today I pulled these two from a very high kill shelter, they had been there a while and yes I believe mom had her pups there also. Looks like only one survived and she is very protective of him. She was a bit confused with all the fuss about him, and her too. I got them to boarding and she settled right down once the pup was back with her. The stress levels are so high when making all the moves. But it has to be done if they are to move on to better places; and for most, almost anywhere is better than where they came from.
