Animal Transport

While we stopped documenting the stories of our transports in 2016, we continue to work directly with rescue organizations in getting animals out of high-kill shelters.

Sticking His Tongue Out

September 26, 2011 by Animal Resources

If I didn’t know better I would say that k-109 was sticking his tongue out as he was leaving the shelter for the last time. He was so happy to out of there. I pulled two today for transport to Calabasas Vet Hospital, because both had issues that needed further treatment before going on to a rescue or foster before adoption. I will transport both down to the San Diego area when they finish with their vet visits in about a week. The little white one (#100) wasn’t feeling well and didn’t want to be disturbed. She just slept the whole way. I am sure she will bounce back in no time.

Three More On Their Way

September 21, 2011 by Animal Resources

All three of these guys came from outside the shelter. So that means that they have been safe for a while. One came from Ventura Highway Luxury Boarding for Dogs out on the Avenue in Ventura and the other two were the ones I transported to Westlake Village Animal Hospital last week. Their conditions had improved enough for their journey to begin, so it was off they went. They are always excited about getting in the cab of the big rig. It’s something so different for them. Glen says during the ride to Phoenix they are kind of mesmerized with being so high and looking down on everything else. Something they really don’t get used to. But they adapt. As they always do.
