Animal Transport

While we stopped documenting the stories of our transports in 2016, we continue to work directly with rescue organizations in getting animals out of high-kill shelters.

Oscar Is Doing Well

March 14, 2015 by Animal Resources

Today is when Oscar finally gets to go home from the vet where he has been the last week having his leg amputated because his prior owners didn’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t get his leg taken care of years ago when he was somehow injured. We pulled him from the shelter knowing that this was needing to be done and there would be no possible adopters lining up for him – the first photo on the left is from the day we pulled him. Well it’s done and now begins the long recovery period that lies ahead of him. He all ready has placement with a foster family when he is ready, but that won’t be for quite awhile down the road. All we can do now make sure rehab goes smoothly and take it one day at a time. Soon he will be running in the grass as a true tri-pod and all the other dogs will check him out and find him just like them and life will go on.

Who Stands Out More, The Boots Or The Pittie?

March 13, 2015 by Animal Resources

I have to say after looking at those boots the kennel staff person was wearing while getting this poor, sick, brindle pittie out of the shelter, I don’t know who I remember more, the boots or the pittie. And I will bet that this has been this poor dog’s life story, nothing outstanding about him, just blends into the wall. I will say his personality was outstanding when meeting him. Sadly, he didn’t have a name; well, the rescue he is going to will fix all of that and I know he will find a young family looking for someone just like him. The days ahead will be better than those in the past. I just know it.
