Multiple Lives Saved Today

August 18, 2011 by Animal Resources

Today was very hectic transporting so many dogs to different places, in an effort to open space at the Ventura County Animal Shelter to keep the kill list down.

I transported 6 chihuahuas for a rescue to a vet in Simi Valley to be spayed and neutered.
Then I went to the shelter and pulled the husky that is pictured below. He will be transported to Utah by Best Friends Animal Society on Monday. I have to transport him to the collection point, in the meantime he is in boarding for safe keeping over the weekend.

Then I pulled two more (a terrier and a corgi mix) and transported them to a foster who lives way up in the hills in Studio City, near the big Hollywood sign (even the GPS got lost.)

Then I picked up the 6 chihuahuas from the vet in Simi Valley to be returned to their rescue after their surgery was completed.

All was accomplished and everyone was delivered where they were supposed to be – happy and safe! And I am exhausted.

Poor Ralph

August 17, 2011 by Animal Resources

Last week I transported Ralph down to Huntington Beach to his new foster mom, Jackie, and everything was fine. We had Ralph fixed prior to his going to foster and there didn’t seem to be any issue, well there was. Ralph developed an infection where they removed certain parts and we had to rush back down to pick him back up and take him to the vets that did the original surgery. Ralph will remain up here with us for a few days recovering, then we will take him all the way back down again to his foster mom, hopefully fully recovered. But he seems to enjoy the long car rides so at least he gets something out of it.
