Today I pulled these four from a high kill shelter, and two were on the kill list for today. That they were still alive is because someone at a rescue cared enough to arrange that they would have a future and a chance at a life far better than their past. All were labeled rescue only because of behavioral issues and they did have issues coming from the shelter. But when off loaded, not a one was even a little grumpy. Being out of the shelter even for just for a few hours makes such a difference and allows for a big a change in their personalities. They will be vetted over the course of the next week, and be ready for their trip north where we all hope a much happier future awaits.
Two Peas In A Pod
Looking at their photos they look very much alike, but they are two very different dogs. Robbie is the mostly brown one and Avia is the one with more white on her neck. Robbie had a minor kennel cough and was not feeling well. Yes, he is on meds and is at the vets. Avia was doing just fine, wanted to be all over the place. Both were very energetic, but transported well. They just want room to play after coming out of the shelter. Who can blame them. They are both on their way to a great rescue for boxers and I am sure will be in a foster home within days. And after that it will be on to a forever home and this part of their life will be but a distant memory.
