Pet Pass Riders

December 23, 2011 by Animal Resources

Today I needed to be at the shelter no later than 9:00 a.m. to pull two pitties or they were to be killed. So I put other things like Christmas on hold and went to the shelter on time and pulled these guys to get them out before their all important deadline. Thankfully I had two pet passes (thank you Ashley) to pay for this transport as the rescues are pretty tapped out with all the vet bills because of the kennel cough coming out of the shelter. Mary Jane had just completed her meds as she had caught it while there. So I pulled them and transported them to Linda Blair’s rescue in Acton and waited while they settled in and acclimated somewhat to their new digs. They are safe for now and we will be working with Linda on finding them their furever home soon.

The Saga Of Coco

December 22, 2011 by Animal Resources

On Thursday I drove down to the valley to pick up a pittie at Top Dog Boarding, she had been there for 4 months waiting for someone to take her home. No one ever did. Diane started to network her and finally Pam from Second Chance Rescue in Phoenix, AZ agreed to take her and work with her and get her adopted. Remember that she is only 1 year old and during that time she has spent 6 months with a very abusive foster person and then 4 months in a kennel cage. Not much of a start for this little girl. To say she is afraid and fearful would be an understatement. Do I think that with a lot of love and attention she may have a chance at a normal life? I hope so, but only time will tell with Coco. We all wish her well on her recovery.
