Now Who Wouldn't Adopt One Of These? - February 4, 2012

On Saturday I headed out to Indio, CA. Yes, that Indio, way out in the desert off the I-10, to pick up these little ones and bring them to an adoption event in Orange County. To say that it took a few moments to load, may be an understatement. Each little guy had to be looked at and fussed over thoroughly before loading, and yes, there were a few tears shed by the foster mom Bonnie that kept getting in the way. Well we finally got them all bedded down for there first ride in a van and we made sure each was as comfy as possible. Did they know what was really going on? Probably not, but they enjoyed the attention. They all were very quiet, some kept looking out the back windows at the passing cars and I would have loved to know what was going on in their little minds. They seemed so full of wonder and awe at it all. Must be nice to start out with everything being so wonderful in there world. If we could only keep it that way.

DONATE A KURANDA BED
...and make a shelter dog smile!

Much more comfortable than a concrete floor, these beds encourage happier, healthier, and more relaxed dogs. They make cleaning a lot easier too. Our goal is to have a Kuranda Dog Bed for every dog. Please help us provide them with a good night's sleep.

You can’t keep your pet? Really?
By: A Shelter Director

"I think our society needs a huge “Wake-up” call. As a shelter manager, I am going to share a little insight with you all…a view from the inside if you will. First off, all of you people who have ever surrendered a pet to a shelter or humane society should be made to work in the “back” of an animal shelter for just one day. Maybe if you saw the life drain from a few sad, lost, confused eyes, you would stop flagging the ads on craigslist and help these animals find homes. That puppy you just bought will most likely end up in my shelter when it’s not a cute little puppy anymore. Just so you know there’s a 90% chance that dog will never walk out of the shelter it’s dumped at! Purebred or not!..." Read the full post on CauseForPawsUtah.org
