Today I went way out east to pick up these six dogs from a shelter that doesn’t get much rescue support, because nobody knows there out there. It was a very high kill shelter because not many got out alive. The current staff is trying very hard to turn things around and folks like me are trying to help. We did six today; next week we will try again maybe, if other rescues step up and want more. The little Papillion, in the photo with her new foster, was deemed too aggressive to handle. As you can see, that is not the case anymore. This is what we do, save one dog at a time.
Tough, Who Me?
Meet Maggie, whom some folks back away from. Why? She is so sweet and is very good with people. She just wanted to play and explore when I picked her up at the shelter. Seems not many were interested in her. But there was one rescuer who had her eye on Maggie, so when she became available for the first day, I pulled her and off to boarding she went. Friday she will head up north and then spend time in foster and then maybe her forever home soon after. She should have no problem getting adopted, especially to a dobby savvy dog person.
